One more piece of the basketball coaching staff puzzle is now in place at Skyline High School. Spartan basketball has acquired the services of Coach Mark Price to assist at the varsity level and guide the junior varsity squad.
The former Cedarcrest varsity boss brings seven seasons of successful high school coaching to Sparta along with a background in AAU and youth sports spanning over 15 years. “We are really fortunate to have Coach Price join the staff here. He brings the passion, character, and knowledge we need to build our program and has consistently been in post-season play”, said Head Coach Gordon Kaplan.
The former Kamiakin and CWU graduate was a two-time Coach of the Year award winner. His 2012 squad went to state and finished 2nd in district while his 2016 his team was 2A State Academic Champions. “I enjoy developing their skills and helping to foster an appreciation for discipline, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and teamwork …” said the new Skyline coach.
Coach Price and his wife lived in Sammamish for 15 year and now reside in Carnation with their two children.
